How it's Made and Printed

Each Zippo® lighter is made in the US from a high-quality brass which then dipped into nickel for a smooth finish. When you design your own lighter, your designs are printed onto a white layer on the brushed chrome print on demand lighter case, using Contrado's specialist metal ink transfer application process. This produces a scratch-resistant matte print for personalized lighters that will stand up to normal wear and tear. The wick and flint come included, and the actual custom zippo lighter can be removed from the encasing to refill with lighter fluid and replace the flint. The personalized lighters are presented in an original presentation box, seated in a molded enclosure to protect the surface from scratches. Clean custom zippo lighters with a dry cloth only.

Want to create a whole collection for your store? Create your own custom lighters in bulk using your brand colors. Your designs are also printed across the hinged lid opening, so please take this into account when positioning your images to ensure you're happy with where the custom printed lighter will flip open and distort your design. Of course, when the lid is shut, the design's matte finish is flawless and the lid opening can barely be seen. Please bear in mind that white areas of your design will be unprinted, however, we do spray the print area lighter with a white surface before printing.

Your personalized lighters fall under the famous Zippo lifetime guarantee. The majority of the internal parts are consumables and can be replaced (examples include the flint, spring, wadding, and wick). The specialized printing can last years upon years, as long as proper care is taken with it. Only put in your pocket if it won't be with keys or sharp objects. Do not let the lighter fluid splash onto the area that you have designed. The printing is durable and will resist scratching, but it is possible to mark it if too much force or pressure is applied or if sharp objects are used.

How do I fill my custom lighters?

Your Zippo® customized lighter comes unfilled due to safety, but a wick and flint are included. Please refer to Care Instructions above where you can find a link to our step-by-step guide with instructions and safety precautions.

Where is my design printed on personalized lighters?

Your design is printed onto the front of the personalized lighter (hinge left), including the body and the lid. Single sided printed with slight border around the edge to stop bleeding around the curved corners.

Will my custom made lighter scratch?

Your Zippo® custom lighter is scratch resistant, not entirely scratch proof. It will stand up to normal wear and tear, being in pockets or handbags, but we would advise that you avoid scratching it with sharp objects.
