DevOps Engineer Job (Ahmedabad, India)

Experience: 6 to 8 years (minimum 6 years in DevOps domain)

About the team

You will join an established product and engineering organisation working on a real-world eCommerce and manufacturing platform. We operate with regular releases, automated deployments, and multiple environments, with systems running across cloud-hosted and virtualised environments.
Teams collaborate closely across engineering, UX, QA, DevOps, and delivery, with a shared focus on building stable, high-quality products.

Essential Skills – Abilities

  • Experience managing application, software delivery lifecycle, and/or infrastructure development and administration.
  • Hands-on experience in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitLab and delivering Continuous Delivery and DevOps solutions and architecture patterns.
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring, alerting, and logging using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, and AWS CloudWatch.
  • Experience in automating and managing large-scale infrastructure.
  • Experience with code repository management, code merge and quality checks, continuous integration, and automated deployment & management using tools like Jenkins, SVN, Git, Sonar, Selenium, Ansible.
  • Experience with tooling & planning for automated build, delivery, and release of software.
  • Experience working in an Agile delivery environment.
  • Experience working with Windows and Linux based systems.
  • Experience working with cloud, preferably AWS.
  • Strong with scripting – Shell, PowerShell, Python.
  • Strong experience working with SQL & NoSQL database systems.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational, time-management and prioritization skills.
  • Self-starter with research & development mindset.
  • Hands-on experience with .NET and .NET Core application builds and deployment.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and container orchestration services like Amazon ECS.

Principle Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Understanding requirements and project KPIs.
  • Implementing various development, testing, automation tools, and IT infrastructure.
  • Participate in planning & project management activities.
  • Continuously looking to improve processes.
  • Setting up tools and required infrastructure.
  • Defining and setting development, test, release, update, and support processes for DevOps operation.
  • Have the technical skill to review, verify, and validate the software code developed in the project.
  • Troubleshooting issues with infra, deployments or configuration.
  • Monitoring the processes during the entire lifecycle for its adherence and updating or creating new processes for improvement and minimizing the wastage.
  • Encouraging and building automated processes wherever possible.
  • Identifying and deploying cybersecurity measures by continuously performing vulnerability assessment and risk management.
  • Incidence management and root cause analysis.
  • Coordination and communication within the team and with stakeholders.
  • Selecting and deploying appropriate CI/CD tools.
  • Strive for continuous improvement and build continuous integration, continuous development, and constant deployment pipeline (CI/CD Pipeline).
  • Mentoring and guiding the team members.
  • Managing periodic reporting on the progress to the management.

  • Willing to occasionally work unsocial hours (6pm – 9am & weekends).
