How Indoor Banners are Made

Our technicians use deep infusion techniques to print your design onto the Monroe satin material. This penetrates the eco-friendly inks deep into the fibers of the fabric, creating a permanent bond which will ensure your print lasts for years to come. Once printed, your banner is cut to size by craftsmen, hemmed by seamstresses and eyelets are added for easy hanging.

Care Instruction

Should it be necessary, you can machine wash your printed fabric banner at 30°. It can also be tumble dried and ironed as long as both are done on a low heat.

  • Wash At 86°F
  • Tumble 1
  • Hang Dry
  • Do not Wring
  • Low Heat

Design Tips

Make sure that you don’t put any important details in your design at the points where the eyelets will be. The exact number of eyelets that your custom indoor banners have depends on the size that you choose, however these are clearly marked out in the handy design tool so that you can make sure you’re happy with the positioning.

As standard your fabric banner printing is shown in landscape orientation. If you want to make a portrait banner, you will need to create the design ‘on its edge’ within the interface.

How does this product enhance my…

  • Home

A perfect party decoration, or even just a seasonal touch, these indoor banners are a unique way to add a decorative flair to your home. Fabric banner printing using your artwork and designs is a great way to showcase your pieces and then take them down and keep them for use again another time.

  • Business

Don’t just tinsel up the tables for the office Christmas party, go all out with fabric banner printing. Welcome your new staff members with indoor banners that say, ‘Welcome to the Team’. By taking a novel approach you will stand out and be remembered for life.

  • Design Brand

Whether you’re selling at the market, hosting an event or even have an indoor stall at a huge trading convention, make sure that you get noticed. With our fabric banner printing you can put your logo and name on indoor banners, not just images.

Frequently asked questions:

How do I add my company name?

Adding your company name to your fabric banner printing is easy and can be done in one of two ways. If you have a specific font that you use, then you can save your text as an image and upload it to our design interface just as you would a picture. If you don’t then you can use the text tool to add text and pick your font from our handy drop-down list.

Do you charge more if I upload multiple images?

We absolutely do not. The only time that the price will change within the design interface is if you change the size of your banner. Once you’ve decided on a size the price is fixed, whether you want to print one image or 100. We don’t charge by number of images on any of our items and this one is definitely no different.

Are these banners heavy and cumbersome?

Although indoor banners are very strong, they are relatively lightweight. Monroe Satin is a midweight fabric weighing 4.72oz. That makes the smallest banner (0.6 x 1.4 meters/0.84 sq. meters) just shy of 135 g. Even the biggest banner (1.5 m x 6 m/9sq. meters) is quite lightweight at only 1.44 kg.

Print Guideline

  • DPI-Print Guideline Icon

What's the best resolution to print in?

We print at 200dpi, which is a good combination of quality and file weight. Ideally your image should be scaled to 100% at 200dpi, this means that no resizing of your file occurs stopping any interpolation.

  • Jpeg-Tiff Print Guideline Icon

Should I save my file as a TIFF or JPEG?

For multi-colored or very detailed files we recommend using a tiff format, but they must be flattened. For simple colors and low detail files, a jpeg is fine.

  • RGB-CMYK Print Guideline Icon

Which color model should I choose? RGB or CMYK?

If each individual color is specifically important to your design, choose CYMK as our setup will print each color with the closest possible match within our available range. If the relationship between the colors within the image is more important choose RGB, this will reduce all colors equally to fit within our range.

  • GSM ICON

    What does GSM mean?

Grams per Square Meter (GSM) is an international standard for measuring the weight of paper or fabric. GSM uses the weight of a square meter (1000 x 1000mm) as an indication of the weight and thickness of a given fabric. We class 20-100gsm as light (summer fabrics, gauzes and fine silks), 101-249 gsm as medium (most clothing fabrics) and 250+ gsm as heavy (upholstery fabrics, and other specialist fabrics).

  • Fill Bleed Areas ICON

    What are bleed areas?

When designing your product, it’s best to make sure that your image is slightly larger than needed. In printing, the extra printed image is referred to as a “Bleed Area” or margin, and it is removed from the finished piece. A bleed area acts as a buffer for slight inconsistencies in the manufacturing process. however, it’s important to fill your bleed areas completely, or you may end up with white, unprinted strips along the edge of your finished product.

  • Transfer-Print Guideline Icon

Do you print on garments a customer supplies?

Unfortunately not. All our garments are printed on flat fabric, and sewn into finished products, which gives a better finished result and all-over print. We test meticulously so that we know what gets best results on our fabrics, and our facilities cater perfectly to them. We do however print sublimation paper to order, so if you have access to a heat press you can press your fabrics or flat garments easily.

  • Pattern Alignment Across Seams ICON

Can you Align a Pattern or design across panels of a garment?

We always strive for the greatest accuracy when printing and constructing your garments. However, due to unavoidable stretch or movement of the fabric during the stitching process, we cannot guarantee perfect pattern registration across garment seams. We are generally accurate within 2-3mm, which Is close enough for most patterns, but may show slight issues with detailed geometric patterns.

  • print label option icon

Can I print my own Labels?

Most of our garments now come with printable label space for you to add your own company information and branding! If you would like to sew in your own labels, we also offer Printed Fabric Labels here.

  • Eco friendly Printing

How is your fabric printing eco-friendly?

With environmental consciousness in mind, our fabrics are all printed using completely water based inks. This means no chemicals or solvents are used. Our heat fixing procedure fixes the colors and prints, avoiding the downsides of steaming, such as excess or contaminated water returning into the waste system. We have one facility in London where we conduct all the printing, production and fulfillment.

Please note: As we make everything by hand, all sizes may vary slightly.
